Death Star Watermelon & The Ultimate Star Wars Party
My friend Jenn of justJENN Designs is one of the biggest Star Wars geeks I know and is quite crafty with food items. She threw The Ultimate Star Wars Party this past fall and it was mind blowing. The extensive menu included creations such as the Death Star Watermelon, Princess Leia Cupcakes, Han Solo in Carbonite Jell-o and much more. Jenn provided the recipes or how-to instructions for all of the items so you can craft your own Star Wars party.
Futurama Cake Roundup
Futurama is one of my all time favorite shows. I even have a Mars University t-shirt. And yet I’m ashamed to say that I have never had a Futurama cake. After seeing these, I may have to change that when my birthday rolls around.
Brainslug Cupcakes
These were such a hit last year that they were reproduced for the cast and crew for the final script reading of Season 6. The brainslugs are gum paste, and the brains are grenadine flavored buttercream frosting.
I want this at my wedding! I love how detailed it is. I wouldn’t want to cut into it! It looks like the Planet Express logo is actually fondant, not painted on.
I love the New New York skyline on this one (from Edible Art Bakery). The back ground is painted on and the closer buildings are fondant. And the jetpack-wearing cat and dog from the pilot are on there!
These are gorgeous, and could go with any cupcake. The disks are fondant and edible marker (I have to get some!). Plus, there’s a tutorial!
I love that this birthday cake is actually Bender’s head, not just a picture of it. And it’s chocolate!
The bride and groom both love Futurama, so of course that’s what’s on their wedding cake. It even has Buggalo running around the bottom. No sign of the Wongs though.
These are really cute. The Nibbler one is my favorite (I love his eyestock). From Unicorn Magic Baking Company.
I think I might have to bake something tonight. Hmm…
Have a great weekend!
Amigurumi Luchador Bananas
My love of anthropomorphic food is no secret and I am highly amused by these Amigurumi bananas from Craftster user cindyjane. They look like mild-mannered crocheted bananas, but really they are fierce Luchadors!
Polymer Clay Food
Okay, this is geeky because… um, geeks have to eat, right? This wee polymer clay food from Craftster lyric889 is so cute I just had to share :)
TV Dinner Plushie
Okay, so this isn’t actually geeky, but I love it so much! It’s a TV dinner plushie from Etsy seller WhimsyatHandmade. I really might have to buy one of these!
