Stained Glass TARDIS

Look what I have found for our Whovians to drool over today.

This delightful stained glass TARDIS made by Alexandria (Xandrigirly from Craftster).

She says:

“This semester, I’m in Stained Glass II, which means that after two panels and a little simple box, we got to pick more complicated/design our own 3D stained glass pieces! I was originally planning on a lantern type thing, but I changed my mind and decided this would be a box to keep my ever growing candy stash! And since I’m a dork, it had to be a TARDIS! Anyways, here it is, please excuse the crooked lines and such of a beginner!”

I’m sure you will all agree with me that it is amazing and she should be very proud of it.

Teeny Little Super Guy

Remember him? “You can’t judge a hero by his size. He’s just a teeny little super guy.”

I was thinking about him the other day, (we were watching some old school Sesame Street) I thought, wouldn’t it be awesome to have one of those cups? Then I thought, I’m sure I could find one on Etsy.

Guess what? NO! No teeny super guy on Etsy! I couldn’t believe it! Everything is on there. So I had to make one myself. I’m not a great painter, but he’s not too bad for a first try.

Here’s what you do:

  1. Get paint for glass. I thought I did, but I ended up getting just plain acrylic. It’s not durable, or washable, but if you just want to keep it on a shelf it’s fine. You need Yellow, Red, Tan, and Black.
  2. Print out the little super guy, or draw him freehand (what I did) on a piece of paper.
  3. Put the paper inside the glass. Now just paint in the lines.

That’s all. It only took a few minutes. I made him on a mason jar, and I use him as a piggie bank on the top of my fridge. I sing the song every time I put a coin in. Now you can have your own little super guy.

Dicey Decor Feature

Today I would like to put Claudia into the spotlight for her amazing crafting skill combine with geekyness.

I stumbled upon Claudia’s store when looking for Christmas presents for my geeky boyfriend. Claudia runs an Etsy store Dicey Decor. She makes and sells glass works based around Dice used for geeky games such as Dungeons & Dragons.
She makes model dice lamps, clocks, candle dishes, paperweights, keyrings, planters, picture frames, dice bowls + boxes. As you can see her work is amazing and perfect gifts for the geek in your life (or just for yourself). I truly recommend a visit to her store!

Futurama Glasses

New Futurama starts Thursday! I’m a little obsessed with the show, so both of my posts this week will be Futurama stuff. Today we have Futurama etched glasses! PimpernelSmith made these for a show obsessed friend, and I love that the images used that aren’t just the characters faces. The Zoidberg glass made me laugh out loud! Hypnotoad is at the bottom of each glass, to compel the drinker to refill. All Glory to the Hypnotoad!
