Harley Quinn and The Joker Take a Selfie

PBIvX69

Mark Hamill has been my favorite version of the Joker for the longest time, so I geeked out a little bit, as both a fan girl and as a crocheter, when I saw this blanket that prettigirl2203 made about a month ago. The finished product is 6’9″ X 7’2″.

She used a perler bead pattern as her inspiration and her pattern came from Kandi Patterns. As far as the crocheting itself goes, prettigirl2203 made 3,600 squares. Each one measures 1.5″ squared. For those who crochet, she created the squares by chaining 6, (turn and half double crochet 5) X5. It looks like she used a simple acrylic yarn, which holds up really well for blankets and especially in the washer.

Knit Your Own Superhero, or Stormtrooper, or Hobbit

nerdknitter_spidy
Nerd Knitting on Tumblr has a series of patterns for dolls, across a variety of fandoms. But what caught my eye was one of the most recent posts. With Great Knitting Comes Great Responsibility.

Spider-Man has always been one of my favorite superheroes. So I was even more pleased when I wandered over to the tumblr and found characters from Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Batman, The Hobbit, and even Captain Jack…Sparrow.  The pattern is worked flat then sown up and stuffed to make the doll.  The patterns build up from one another, so I’d say read a couple before you get started, but this is mentioned in each one. So get your needles and  ‘Let’s put a smile on that face’.

Joker Perler Art

Joker Perler ArtMy son is very much into Batman right now, and whenever he takes an interest in something geeky, I do my best to encourage it.  Right now I am raising him on a solid diet of 1960’s, Adam West era Batman. While he isn’t quite old enough to watch the new Christopher Nolan Batman movies, I certainly am.  So what happens when you search for Batman on Etsy?

YOUR MIND EXPLODES!  THAT’S WHAT!

This Joker Perler Art by mikeandemma on Etsy is amazing.  I can’t even comprehend the amount of time and effort that goes into making something like this.  It is simply amazing.
