Reader Submission: Etched Portal Glass

This etched Portal glass (or Handheld Portal Vessel) was made and submitted by Flickr user Rappe.

Would you drink out of a glass with the Aperture Science logo on it? if so you’re braver than me.

I was transfixed by the blue and orange drink… luckily Rappe clears up the mystery of the ingredients over at the Spritestitch boards:
“The drink we ended up coming up with was mango smoothie on the bottom and Blueberry Lemonade Jones soda on the top. It was surprisingly tasty, but less than a minute after the pictures were taken the smoothie floated up to the top and got all gross looking. Still tasted great though.”

Aperture Science Space Core Cake

Aperture Science Space Core CakeYeah, you read that right.  I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this cake based on the personality cores from Portal 2.  I thought I had made some sort of mistake, but check out this picture of the cake being cut.  I could never be a baker, because if I made a cake this awesome and someone tried to cut into it I don’t know what I would do.  Certainly we would be in the newspaper the next day.

The cake was made by the talent over at Mike’s Amazing Cakes in Redmond, WA.  I have attempted to make a cake in the past, and failed horribly, so I can’t even imagine the kind of work that would go into something like this.

Portal Hoops

This is such a cool idea! I wish I had thought of this. TroubleT made these for her husband as part of his Father’s Day present (apparently she spoiled him big time–she also stitched him a Binary Man). This is so simple yet SO brilliant…I’m still kicking myself about not thinking to paint hoops as portals!

Reader Submission: Light Up Portal Sentry Turret Plush

We’ve seen a few Portal crafts here on Geekcrafts. Indeed, across the internet, portal crafts have become a bit of a meme in themselves.

But when Geekcrafts reader and Deviantartist MelloReflections sent us her light up sentry turret plush it really caught our eye… I mean, what could be more ‘geekcrafts’ than a plush, modelled on a game, with electronic bits!!

I love things that light up!

Have you made something that lights up? Hit us up by filling in the submit a geekcraft form.
