Alexa Westerfield has all sorts of awesome Halloween projects on her blog The Swell Life, including this deviled egg costume, complete with instructions. I’ll be posting another cool costume from Alexa tomorrow.
I’m having a childhood flashback to Saturday morning cartoons and playing with Barbies thanks to Craftster user lancmaltby. She sewed a fabulous Jem (of Jem and the Holograms!) costume last year. I still want to be Jem!
Here’s another cool Nightmare Before Christmas costume – Oogie Boogie. Craftster user ashleyjustine sewed this out of burlap and padded it with polyester fiber fill. She posted another picture showing the insects she added coming out of him, but because I’m terrified at the mere image of bugs, you’ll have to click through for that one.
I mentioned last month that I was hoping to make a Yoda costume for my daughter Pearl, and yay, I finished it! I wrote it up as a tutorial for CRAFT: as part of their big Halloween round-up.
This is a super easy project to do if you sew — I finished it within a week. My favorite parts to make were the hat (I used Heather Mann‘s tutorial and actually made a little set of three in different sizes),
and the snake.
Please let me know if you make a Yoda costume too, I’d love to see it!
Craftster user Vampira_666 made her baby a Moogle costume from Final Fantasy. Click through to see more pictures, including the super cute wings, and details on the construction.
