Amazingly Detailed Star Wars Cross Stitch

Check. This. Out:

Star Wars Cross Stitch

This is an impressive piece of work. I’m always amazed by the time and care taken over large projects –  probably because I have only the patience to stitch emoticons and Space Invaders. This amazingly detailed work depicting Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker really shows that hard work pays off.

Check out the original post on Tumblr. The creater of this piece made the pattern themselves using www.picturecraftwork.com, uploading an image they found online. I’d love to know how many differrent colours of thread were needed!

Come to the Dark Side, O Christmas Tree

Death Star Tree Topper

With Christmas just days away, my brain is still in decorate mode. And believe me, if we didn’t already have a pretty star for the top of our tree, I would be madly scrambling to whip this Death Star Tree Topper together for our celebration.

Meg at Offbeat Home has graciously provided a tutorial for said tree topper, so you can add a bit of the Dark Side to your tree as well. Looks like a quick and easy project!

May the Force be with your Christmas!

R2-D2: Safety Droid

I know, I know, I keep posting about R2-D2, but I can’t help it. Artoo is so endearing and apparently lends himself to craft projects. Anyway, this time I stumbled across this awesome R2-D2 bike helmet, made by pastry artist, illustrator, and all-around crafty gal Jenn Hall. There is some controversy about the safety of the dimensional restraining bolt, should Jenn actually fall, but it looks amazing. And, since she made the helmet last year, hopefully she’s had time to sort out the safety issues. It is pretty phenomenal, though.
