Insta-cookie

instagram cookie

I’m such a sucker for iPhone App crafts. There is just something so sweet and loving about replicating those little icons that are the backdrop of my hectic everyday. I have to admire the fact that someone paused to take the time to recompose the colors, the shapes, and remind me of the art behind some of these icons.

I hate to do this, but I don’t know the reference for this cookie! I happened upon it from Pinterest, which lead me to a really funny tumblr called Epic Ponyz, who in turn got it from We Heart it, thought I don’t know if that was another re-blog or the original artist.

Anyway, if anyone knows the origin of the instagram cookie, leave it in the comments and I will update the post. Otherwise, I’ve just given you an additional tumblr or two that will suck your time away. You’re welcome!

Enter the Dragon!

Spyro

Recently, my husband and I have become addicted to the game Skylanders. As a huge Spyro fan since I was young, I knew that I would love this game immediately. What I didn’t expect was to be scouring the internet for Skylanders crafts before I’ve had breakfast.

That being said, I didn’t find many Skylanders crafts that weren’t meant as party favors for children’s parties. So I settled on trying to find something Spyro related. The lack of Spyro crafts is sad, but I finally stumbled upon the forum called Sprite Stitch. A forum for cross stitch patterns based on video games.

After a bit of searching, I found a great Spyro pattern for any cross stitcher.

If Spyro isn’t your thing, you can find a list of their patterns here to find a pattern more suited for you.

Lego Star Wars Clock

Lego Star Wars clock

This Lego Star Wars clock Instructables project opens with the sentence, “My son made this clock in clay class when he was 4 years old.” This is parenting done right, folks.

I love the idea for using Lego base pieces so you can move the minifigs around as you choose.

Mini Papercraft, Maxi Cool

Have you ever wanted to make an adorable mini papercraft version of…anything cool? Ever? Well, Gus Santome probably has you covered. She-Ra? Check! Batman? Yep! R2-D2? Indubitably!

Seriously, these are crazy cute. I haven’t tried to make any yet (partially because I already have too many knickknacks and gewgaws), but I could use a bit more flair on my desk at work…. Project!
