ProcrastaStitch

ProcrastaStitch has recently hit the nerdy cross-stitch market. They have fun patterns and book marks and other geekery over on their Etsy shop.

They also have a fun tumblr where you can keep up to date with them and their many projects. I love needlework and I’m always happy when I see needlework+fandom.

After the cut we have a few words from Emma and Lyndsey themselves! Continue reading

Felted Calvin & Hobbes

Yoopidou from Hawaii doesn’t need Bill Watterson to come out with any licensed Calvin and Hoobes toys…she can make her own and have them turn out perfect!

felt

Yoopidou needle felted Hobbes and Calvin over a wire frame so they be poseable.

Make sure you take a look at her Craftster posting. She has a bunch of photos that she recreated from iconic Calvin and Hobbes strips. On May 21, 2014, her posting was voted as a featured project as well.

Leon’s Window

Knickertwist (I love that name!) posted a really lovely tribute on Craftster to Leon, The Professional, a movie that came out in 1994, starring Jean Reno and Natalie Portman.

window

It measures 5″ tall and is built upon a Graphic 45 matchbox. It slides open, and features a Madonna, bullet marked wall and two quarts of milk inside, all part of Leon’s apartment in the movie. For more pictures of his window, check out Knickertwist’s blog.

Home Decor: Maleficent Dragon Trophy

Paper Mache Maleficent dragon trophy by Dan (the Monster Man) Reeder

In honor of the “Maleficent” movie premiere this past weekend, I wanted to share an amazing project by Dan “the Monster Man” Reeder: Maleficent Dragon Trophy. It was a custom commission project which he sold for $2000.

Dan used paper mache to recreate the head of the Maleficent dragon head, and mounted it like a wall trophy – clever idea and goregous reproduction! Impressive attention to detail with glass eyes and LED lights to make it extra ominous.

Have you seen the new Maleficent movie yet?
