Pokemon Hair Bows

These adorable Pokemon bows were personally drawn and designed  by Riri. She then custom printed on fabric. After she has the fabric, she makes these cute bows, fantastic! I love that she created every step of the way, something she truly DIYed. pokemonbows

Want to see more of her creations? Of course you do! She has a tumblr you can check out! Who’s your favourite Pokemon?

Pokeball Jewelry: Gotta Wear ‘Em All

Pokeball Jewelry Set by Linda Potts

Back in the day, my son was all about Pokemon. He had this set of cards that told little stories about each one, and we would let him pick five to read aloud before bed every night. I also vividly remember making him a Pokemon ABC scrapbook, with all the first 150 Pokemon in alphabetical order. Mother of the Year, I tell ya!

It is with these fond memories in mind that I share with you this craft: a lovely matched set of crochet Pokeball pendant and earrings by Linda Potts. She has very kindly provided a full pattern for both.

She also has patterns for more than 35 individual Pokemon plush amigurumi patterns, including Pikachu, Charmander, and Azumarill. Snorlax is particularly cute.

Which Pokemon would you choose for a pet?

Geek Crafts Are Not Just For Adults

Flat Head Syndrome affects roughly 48% of babies and requires them to wear a helmet as treatment. The helmets are generally white and look like ordinary head fixing helmets (not that there’s anything wrong with that). But artist Paula Strawn isn’t going to let babies go around in some boring old helmet. She makes a living painting the helmets to be more than a medical apparatus, but a work of art.

Look how cute and happy this little guy looks with his “new” helmet! It looks like Anakin Skywalker’s pod race helmet. Check out the link above to see some of her other designs. Paula has a great eye for what would be really eye catching and cute for babies to wear.

Grumpy Cat Shrink Plastic Chandelier Earrings

grumpy cat earrings

Anyone who reads my posts here know that I love Tardar Sauce (aka Grumpy Cat). I Sew Cute, from Ohio, posted a great Craftster tutorial on how to make Grumpy Cat “Skrinky Dink” earrings, and the process is simple enough that the steps can be transferred to making any kind of characters into earrings (I’m thinking some Zachary Quinto Spock earrings might be cool to have!).

And despite working with the oven, this could be a good craft to do with your younger girls, by having them pick their subject and doing the cutting themselves.

She has made it available in her Etsy shop. And I should warn you before you head over there you may need to gird yourself against the cute. There is a lot of it in the shop.
