Three phases of cuteness

You never need an excuse to combine science and something cuddly! Javelin is a labrat during the day, but in the wee hours of the night, she likes to experiment with yarn and hooks. She has crafted an enormous collection of adorable amigurumi shaped as your favourite ball-and-stick molecule. I especially like the three phases of water, shown above. The tiny little scarf on the ice makes it just perfect!

Sadly, Javelin stopped taking commissions for a while, but her Etsy shop still has plenty of molecules in stock. Check it out if you’ve always wanted a pink piece of ethanol or your own carbondioxde! You can find even more cuteness at her Flickr.

The Cutest Dalek Ever

Allison Bitter has a free knit pattern over at Ravelry for your baby: a Dalek jumper! (You may need to create a user name and password in order to download the pattern.)

“You don’t have to wait for the baby in your life to grow up to put him or her in a Dalek jumper! …you can choose which two colors you’d like to make it. It uses around 215-250 yards of yarn and will probably keep you busy for a while – just long enough to figure out how to avoid extermination.”

And once your baby becomes the scourge of the universe, this little jumper would go well with the Dalek onesie, featured here on Geek Crafts a little over two years ago by Rossie.

DalekOMG! Look at this adorable Dalek! I’m not sure I’ve ever used to words “adorable” and “Dalek” in the same sentence before.

As if he wasn’t cute enough, the banner just makes this.

Not only is it fabulous, there’s a tutorial to make your very own! Why stop at one? You could make thousands of them and help restore the Dalek  race.

Cute couple, thoughtful & talented wife, no hyperbole

I’ve been meaning to post this one for a while. A wonderful crafter and lady I am proud to call a friend, Lisa Muccigrosso, cross-stitched a panel from one of her  husband’s favorite online comics. It is called Hyperbole and a Half. It makes me laugh alot ;-)

I don’t recall if this was a special occasion gift or just kind of a “yeah that’s right, you’ve got an awesome wife who cross-stitches hilarious panels from a geeky corner of the internet for ya” kind of thing. Either way, I’m bad at straight-up buying presents for my husband, never mind  custom crafting one, so I’m pretty envious of Lisa’s skills here.
