New Doctor Who Amigurumi Dolls

war doctor

Austin-based artist Allison Hoffman makes crafty tributes to pop culture icons such as Pee-Wee Herman, Conan O’Brien, Carl Sagan, Willie Nelson, and Questlove, but it’s her new crocheted amigurumi dolls of “Doctor Who” Time Lords that seem to be getting a lot of attention.

Fans can make their own versions using her patterns available on Ravelry.

Crafty is Cool created her version of Peter Capaldi in crochet form.

Knit a Pair of Johnlock Mittens

Series 3 of BBC’s Sherlock has just wrapped and these mittens are  a great project to work on during your next re watch.  You know you want to. This pattern actually came out in December so a good wintery pattern.  You have Sherlock and John on the back of you hands deducing their way through the wintery weather.

MrsSharpjohnlock

Pick two colors, possibly one for Sherlock and one for John and get crafting.

Knit Charts for Minecraft, Steve, and Creepers

These knitting charts are a great way to place some Minecraft love on  anything. Ravelry user Jenna La Due has shared a free set of charts to do with what you will.

jenna_la_due_minecraftShe used the charts to make a sweater, but you can see on the project page, that there have been socks and a hat made using these charts.

Game of Thrones Crafts: Amigurumi Starks & Lannisters

Game of Thrones Starks amigurumi

Now that HBO has announced the premiere date for the start of Season 4 of Game of Thrones, I thought it would be apt to share some Game of Thrones crafts.

Ravelry designer Kati Galusz has created a series of medieval amigurumi patterns inspired by the GoT characters, including the Starks (Eddard/Ned, Catelyn, Sansa, Arya, & Bran, plus the direwolves) and the Lannisters (Jaime, Cersei & Tyrion), plus Khal Drogo, Khalessi, and Khalessi’s dragons.

After the “Red Wedding” episode near the end of Season 3 (spoilers at GoT Wikia), we can’t wait to see how Season 4 progresses! Will you be following along?

Pattern: Our Wall Is Not For Target Practice Mitts

Wandering  Tumblr as one waits for a blizzard (oh its here guys its here) reminded me of something else that was back. The BBC’s Sherlock.  I saw, webpixies Fingerless Mitts and grinned. I mean it wouldn’t be the first time, that I had a themed post so welcome back Sherlock. We are quite happy that you live again even if it took a few years.

webpixie_mitt

Webpixie used  the free pattern by Ampersand Designs  and altered the  mitten pattern into a pair of fingerless gloves. And one has to love the happy face addition on her mitts.  Mitten or Mitts, its a fun knittterly way to show your joy at returning to Baker Street.
