Batman Cosplayers

Ah, the internet world is agog with Batman, his armor and cosplayers right now, thanks to San Diego Comic Con and the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Today, we’ve got two awesome Batman cosplayers to show off.

F0cyBKY

First up, Dhareza posted his bat-armor over at Imgur. This was inspired by Batman’s armor from the upcoming movie. It was amade entirely out of a combination of LED lights, Worbla and eva foam by Dhareza, over the course of 2 months. The base of the costume used to be Batman Thrasher, which Dhareza built to compete at Denver Comic Con and won first place.

This costume is actually for sale, and anyone interested can contact Dhareza through Facebook.

Next up, we’ve got Julian Checkley, with an Arkham Origins Batman that he made himself. Made over the course of about a month, Kevin LeProp 3D printed the parts, then Checkley painted and pieced everything together in Galway, Ireland. He ALSO built a ridiculously dangerous, fireball-shooting gauntlet.

More Cosplay From Figments & Filaments in KC

18thCenturyCoat

This is the last of Figments and Filaments, a new cosplay convention in KC.  They had several really awesome costumes on display, including this really well made 18th century suit (a cutaway coat, waistcoat, and breeches).  All you need are hose, heeled shoes with buckles, ribbons, and a wig.  Men knew how to dress in the 1700s.

Jupiter Power, Cosplay!

Sailor Jupiter cosplay by Geeky Seamstress
Cosplay photography by Aperture Ashley

I’ve mentioned before how cool the Female Geek Bloggers Google+ Community is. It’s through that community that I found the Geeky Seamstress. She is a cosplayer/seamstress extraordinaire – her blog is packed full of tutorials and costume notes on her various projects.

One striking project she completed was this fantastic Sailor Jupiter cosplay, which she debuted at Anime Fest 2014. Her blog post details her design process, including extensive customization. I bow to her sewing greatness – I’m lucky if I can sew a straight line for an infinity scarf!

The Ultimate in “Archer” Cosplays

Can you have two “ultimates” for any one category? I mean, shouldn’t one be better than the other? Isn’t that the point of being the ultimate? Well today, we’re breaking the rules! So everyone, go grab your tactleneck sweater and let’s go to the Danger Zone!

First up, this unknown “Archer” stand-along cosplayer.

All I can say is WOW, and maybe, if you’re going to do this good of a job as a cosplayer, make sure you get your name out there! Sterling Archer, codename Duchess.

Next up, the group from International Secret Intelligence Service, as seen on FX.

Untitled-1

This Archer cosplay brings the show to life with Krieger’s Virtual Girlfriend, Dr. Krieger, Archer and Cheryl. It’s great that Krieger’s Virtual Girlfriend is the only one who looks real when in the show she’s the only one who’s not real.

Fully Knitted Captain America Cosplay

Ag0o0IX

I crochet, so I can appreciate the time and effort that went into this costume: Cosplayer Fangirl Physics knitted this Captain America costume, for SacCon in March. It’s made entirely of assembled knitted pieces. She doesn’t carry the Captain’s shield, but she has a pair of knitting needles in her bag to fight freedom’s foes.

For more of her costumes, check out her Facebook page. Make it a point to scroll through her posts. She has an awesome end of last season cosplay of Beth from “The Walking Dead!”
