Geeky Halloween Jack-O-Lantern Patterns

Just in time for tomorrow’s spooky big day, I found some fabulous pumpkin carving templates with a dash of geeky flair, and a side of Joss.

That’s right – Firefly-inspired jack-o-lanterns. Aw yeah.

‘Ey up Lads and Lasses!

Hi everyone! I’m Charlotte and I am a new writer for Geek Crafts. I’m a Yorkshire lass born and bred; that’s Yorkshire in England if you don’t know. I am an avid crafter that dabbles in all areas of crafting. I love baking ever since I was 4 and making biscuits with my Gran. I also enjoy sewing, making toys and clothes, as-well as embroidery and cross stitch. I also dabble in miniature painting, I am getting rather good at it if I say so myself. I am also geeky as well as a crafter. I love anything Sci-Fi and Fantasy, particularly Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Dungeons & Dragons. I have always been a geek, I used to be attached to my Game boy Colour from the moment it came out playing on Pokemon. I love pirate, fairies, stripy socks and shiny things!

Until my next post I bid you farewell!

Beaded Tom Baker “Scarf”

More Doctor Who goodness! I love the fourth Doctor’s (Tom Baker) Scarf. But I can’t knit and all of the replicas available on etsy are out of my price range. But this is brilliant: a beaded scarf necklace! España Sheriff made this for a friend, who was getting ready for her first Gallifrey One convention (cosplaying as Tom Baker, of course). She used 15/0 Toho rounds, in a combination of matte, metallic and transparent finishes.

A lot of the comments on the post at Crafty_Tardis said that they loved that it was “stealth geek chic”: to geeks it’s instantly identifiable and when you see one there’s no question that the wearer is a Whovian, but to everyone else it’s just a really cute necklace. Either way, I want one!

3D Dalek Embroidery

New episodes of Doctor Who start Saturday! Of course that’s what I’ve been thinking about all weekend, so I give you a 3D Dalek! Britter25 made this for her Dr. Whoopla swap partner (along with an embroidery of Ten…in 3D glasses of course!) over at Craftster. She based the Dalek off of this card. Britter25 said she may start doing everything in 3D, and I can’t blame her–this looks so cool! I wish I had the old red and blue glasses so I knew if it really works (hint hint)

Physics Cupcakes

Physics CupcakesAccording to popular theories held by physics professors the world over, cupcakes are delicious.  That’s why I absolutely adore these cupcakes made by quaint_idea for her last ever high school physics class.  I’m pretty sure I skipped my last ever high school physics class to pump iron or something equally manly, but I am glad to see that some people have more class than that.

Take a closer look at the cupcakes here, they were posted on a livejournal group called geekcrafts because great minds think alike and all that.

You can also visit quaint_idea at her LJ page here.

Geeky cupcakes are nothing new to Geekcrafts, check out these Doctor Who Cupcakes or these iPhone Cupcakes or even these Pac-Man cupcakes.  Is anyone else getting hungry?
