Lovely lady k4tr1n4 has made an amazing
new interactive t-shirt perfect for little boys and big boys alike! The little white dots are made of velcro and the super cute ghosts are made out of felt so they can be stuck and unstuck to your hearts content.
Alternatively, the girly girls out there might prefer a little cross stitch with their retro gaming… Craftster CaribouOnTheSea got a little carried away with her Pac Man scheme and made this wonderful and ‘punny’ project.
I absolutely have to share this great geek-cake-of-win that was made by my friend Kirsty for her husband, John’s 30th Birthday. John is co-founder of gaming blog and retro console shop angrydinosaur.co.uk, so this cake works on so many levels.

My friend Ruth Suehle (who contributed the Drive-In Messenger Bag, the LilyPad Arduino Cake, and an essay on costuming to World of Geekcraft) just came to visit Portland for the first time this week, and brought me an epic gift! She machine-embroidered a hand towel for me with a design from Urban Threads that pairs a d20 with the caption +1 of Awesome. I just love it so much.
Anonymityblaize crafted this super-cool lamp, featuring some of our favourite ships from Star Trek, Star Wars and Dr Who (as well as other things) and yes I’m referring tot he TARDIS as a ship here, you got a problem with that?! :-)
This is certainly the type of thing that’s bound to get the discussion-ball-rolling at house parties and family gatherings, as well as just being a genuinely AWESOME piece of functional decor.
Etsy has partnered up with NASA for a new handmade contest that is pretty spectacular! Crafters who have created an original design celebrating space are in the second rounds of voting (through this Monday, December 6th) and the prizes for winners are amazing.

NASA and Etsy invited Etsy members to celebrate artistic exploration and commemorate the end of the NASA Space Shuttle Program with a creative challenge: Share an original handmade item or work of art inspired by the NASA Space Shuttle Program and space exploration at large.
Prizes include a trip to an upcoming launch as NASA’s VIP guest, Etsy shopping sprees, and cool merchandise from NASA and Etsy. The winning artwork might even be flown on the Space Shuttle!

My favorite is my friend (and friend of geekcrafts) Rachel Hobson‘s High Texture Embroidery of the Moon piece, in the 2D Original category – it’s intricate and amazing. If you’re interested in her process, she’s also made a video about the embroidery work and her passion for space (including her stint at Space Camp as a 12-year-old!), and written a blog entry about it all too.
