Wow, the GeekGirlCon in Seattle looks awesome! It’s October 8 + 9 at the Seattle Center and EMP Project, and open to all geeks – some of the many rad things going on include improv theater, cosplay, gaming rooms, panels galore, and an artists’ alley. I can’t make it this year but I’m keeping an eye on it for a 2012 trek up north… would love to hear all about it if you’re going!
I was never hardcore enough to finish Riven, I remember hours of sitting behind my older brother watching him play Myst, and then when Riven came out I was embarrassed to find that my computer gaming skills still sucked… I’ve always been more of a spectator when it comes to first person games…
This is what genius metalcrafter Riv says about her work:

This isn’t the first time that a caffeine molecule has made it’s way onto geekcrafts. There is just something about caffeine that fuels geekery. I had already decided to find some funky craft dedicated to the chemical structure of everyone’s favorite late night gaming friend when I happened upon this awesome necklace by Etsian polly925, I knew i had to share it.

I really feel like this is a time where I can use the word “epic” and not worry about summoning an LOLCat. Microsoft is hosting this mega-sized browser based party, to help “make the internet more beautiful”, players will do battle against such villains as “The Eternal Loadworm”. It is a geek’s dream, a LAN party on steriods!
