Crocheted Brains
Etsy user Sarah runs the shop An Optimistic Cynic where she sells an eclectic selection of items, including crocheted organs! Having some extra brains around will be handy when those pesky zombies show up.

I first spotted Angela Rossi’s “altered antique plates” in the pages of BUST magazine, when her “Dear Ol’ Chunk” plate made their 2010 must-have gift guide.
The Los Angeles-based artist takes flea market finds and thrift store treasures and transforms them into unique pieces of pop art. These plates infuse the classic charm of china with an edge of media-age irony, and range from the merely kitschy to the deeply creepy.
Plenty of geek icons have graced her plates, from Frankenstein’s Monster to E.T. Not to mention, plenty of zombies.
One of my favorites is this one of Star Trek‘s Mr. Spock, which has, alas, sold. But there are many other weird and wacky plates available on the Beat Up Creations Etsy shop, so check it out.
Hi! I’m very excited to be joining the Geek Crafts crew! I spend my time in mostly sunny Southern California working as a health care professional, occasionally crafting and quite frequently geeking out over tv shows, movies, science, Harry Potter, zombies and more.
As for crafting, I enjoy sewing tote bags, especially with kawaii Japanese fabrics, crocheting amigurumi hamsters and making pom-pom hamsters with a variety of personalities (See “Super Hamster” to the left). I’ve self published three books of poetry and photos inspired by my love of various rodents. Also, I’ve been a vendor at local craft fairs and San Diego Comic-Con with the Tired Girl Collective.
I’m looking forward to finding lots of awesome geek crafts to share with you.

Let’s face it: Zombies are awesome. There isn’t any denying it, so it’s time to embrace it! LovieDovieAnn made this I Heart Zombies pillow for a friend, the perfect way to let the world know how you really feel about our undead friends. (via craftster).
And how can you ignore a Zombie Cupcake? Honestly, just say the words “Zombie Cupcake” and tell me it doesn’t bring a smile to your face, even better when you realize it isn’t a punk band, but an actual baked treat. Porcalina posted this yummy ode to Zombies to her Flickr stream.
Hey, zombie kids are still kids, right? Why should a little zombie girl miss out on Girl Scouts just because she’s undead and likes to eat brains? She shouldn’t! So take a look at these Zombie Girl Scout Merit Badges that Wheezyx posted on craftster.
And if your zombie kiddies are into the outdoors, you might want to keep them from this summer camp, where “zombie killing” class happens right after arts & crafts. This Zombie Summer Camp Shirt was made and posted on craftster by Ladypie, complete with a big bloody hand print on the back.
The I Heart Zombies T-Shirt that daymoth made for her step-son’s birthday with stencils and posted it on craftster.

Braaaaaaaaaaaaaains…Who doesn’t remember Barbie? And who doesn’t love zombies? Well over at Geekologie, they have an answer for the nostalgic in you, and the part of you that really enjoyed ripping Barbie‘s head off. My husband and I were talking about zombies on and off all day, so when I saw this gem, I just had to share.
