What To Do With All Those Candy Wrappers

CandyWrapperBag

Now that Halloween is (sadly) over, instead of throwing out all those candy wrappers, why not horde them and make something spectacular? Natalie on Doodlecraft has got you covered with this excellent photo tutorial on making your own Candy Wrapper Woven Purse. So snap out of that sugar coma, gather up those empty candy wrappers, and get crafting!

TARDIS Purse

tardispurseThis was submitted to the site and I squeed out loud. Look at this purse! In all my years checking out geeky crafts, this is by far the best TARDIS yet! The attention to detail is incredible. I can only imagine how long it took Etsyer krukrustudio to make this! Be sure to check out their shop for more geeky bags including a Dalek and a Rubik’s Cube.

This post is mostly a targeted plea…

…to my husband regarding Christmas presents. Trev, seriously, I must have one of these. I can’t think of a more thoughtful gift for a stylish bibliophile (oh wait, there is one more, I’ll get it it next week.)

Karen H has an Etsy shop called Novel Creations with tons of great-looking purses made of book covers. I spent a bit of time pondering whether one should go for their hands-down very favorite book, or the one that looks best and goes with your wardrobe best. I think this cover of To Kill a Mockingbird might do both. I’m also pretty in love with the vintage Dracula one. I don’t know… I want most of these….

Ms. H. will assemble these with your choice of fastener and handles.

Subtle, Geek Style

Let’s face it. As much as we don’t care to admit it, there are times in our lives in which we just can’t let our Geek Flag fly without some sort of repercussions. Sometimes, we have to tone it down just a notch or two. This leaves the question of “How can we geek up our wardrobe without being totally obvious?”

This purse by StellarCheri is the perfect example!

I would feel more like Real Self if I could carry this bag with me to those many meetings at the school board that I attend. It’s stylish, not over the top, cool and classy all rolled up into one purse! Check out StellarCheri‘s other wonderful creations!
