Pumpkin-Stencils-Header2-1536x864-336069339979

Halloween is coming and to get you ready I found some fun pumpkin carving templates and ideas! StarWars.com has got some free templates featuring some of your favorite characters, like Yoda and R2-D2. There’s a Chewbacca one that I think looks a bit impossible, but my pumpkins tend to look like a second grader carved them, so . . .

There are so many fun pumpkin carving (and decorating) ideas out there. Do you have some favorites?

An Afghan from Far, Far Away

Star Wars afghan by Courtney of Spin A Yarn 32

It gets cold in space, so you might want to cozy up with this crochet Star Wars afghan by Courtney of Spin A Yarn 32. She has kindly rounded up sources and some of her own original graphs/charts for an empire’s worth of  afghan squares, including:

  • Death Star
  • Stormtrooper
  • Y-wing & X-wing
  • Old Rebublic Logo
  • R2-D2
  • Tie Fighter
  • Millinium Falcon
  • Boba & Jengo Fett
  • Empire & Rebel Insignia
  • C3P0
  • At-At
  • Lightsabers (multiple variations!)
  • Darth Maul
  • Darth Vader
  • Ewok
  • Yoda

What’s cool is you can either stitch these all up for an epic blanket of Star Wars awesomeness, or stitch up individual designs for a set of washcloths – great for a geek housewarming!

Fanart365

Love fan art? Then this is the giveaway for you.  Artist Kayly describes herself as a “mum, tea drinker, geek, outdoor enthusiast, board gamer, and lover of handmade things,” and she’s embarked on a new journey, one we’re invited to go along on.  She’s set a goal of creating 365 fan art drawings in the next year, and she’s giving away three drawings a month! Each winner gets to pick from a variety of her work, too.  Based on her first round of drawings, it’s clear she has a wide array of interests: from Disney, to Marvel, to Star Wars, to Sandman.  There’s bound to be something of interest for everyone.  Don’t miss your chance to cheer Kayly on in reaching her goal, but also to win one of her pieces too.  You can enter her giveaway here.

Don’t forget, you can enter each month from May 2015 – April 2016!

How About A Free Darth Vader Cross Stitch Pattern?

DarthVAderCrossStitch

I love finding free pattern downloads, and this one is especially cute with it’s little Darth Vader.  Username Avozika has this design as well as a few others (including a rather pithy Chuck Norris design) for download on her Instructables page.

A Papercraft Millenium Falcon That Will Blow Your Mind

MilleniumFalconPapercraft

It might look like computer graphics, but no.  This is made from paper–well, 99% of it.  The artist, Bernard Szukiel, says it took him 4 years to build this 38″ long model using photos he found on the internet, fiber optic lights, and LEDs.  For more AMAZING photos of this incredible model, you’ve got to check out his gallery!

The cute is strong with this lovey

Crochet Yoda lovey by Kristen McCrory

Need a super cute gift for a youngling in your life? Look no further than this adorable crochet Yoda-inspired lovey by Kristen McCrory.

The little Yoda head gives your young padawan something to cuddle onto, while also toting around the ever-so-comforting blankie, all in Star Wars geek style. Win-win-win.

Make this Yoda blankie even more geek-tastic by watching “Star Wars” while stitching it up, so the Force is melded into every stitch. Which episode of the series would you watch while making this?

Side note: I noticed Kristen also has a mega-awesome Gir lovey in her Etsy shop – makes me think, “Aw, somebody needs a hug!”
