Crocheted Bookworm
Craftster user randomheartsx crocheted this super cute bookworm for a friend who then knit him a teeny tiny top hot. Love it!

A sweater vest so geeky, and so crafty that it was submitted to us twice by two different people! The Happy Seamstress describes it on her blog as “the nerdiest sweater vest in the world” (because there are really chic, hip sweater vests?). She took a screen shot of Super Mario Bros. , made a pattern and knitted this amazingly geek-tastic Super Mario Sweater Vest for her husband, after dying her own chartreuse yarn to match the pipe and bush perfectly!
The Super Colossal Crafty Wonderland sale is coming up this Sunday in Portland, Oregon, and there will be some fantastic geeky crafts for sale!
My Imaginary Boyfriend will have her screenprinted + embroidered robot ornaments there (I bought one from her at Felt Club two years ago and it is one of my all-time favorite holiday finds),
Berkley Illustration will have plenty of superhero artwork (like this Captain Burnside print),
Leethal will be selling her excellent Game Knitting ebook,
and Bread and Badger will have astronaut etched glassware!
If you’re not in Portland, no worries, all of these crafters have their work available online as well – click the photos or see the list of links below.
p.s. If you are coming to the sale, please stop by the craft demo area between 1 and 2:30 to make a set of button hairclips with me! Maybe some evil buttons?
So now that you’ve stuffed your face, it’s time to empty your wallet! Or, if you’re looking to save some cash, it’s time to get crafting! In honor of Black Friday (the shopaholic’s national holiday and every retail worker’s worst nightmare) here are some Black Crafts (note: not Dark Arts, that’s a differnent blog all together).
Chain Chomp Hat
The Knitting Ninja posted this Chain Chomp Hat on her blog. Chomps may not be the most commonly knitted Mario Bros villian, but they are the ones that look the coolest when they appear to be eating your head.
Mad Dog Softie
Morus sewed this Mad Dog Softie from the book “Softies Only A Mother Could Love” and posted it on craftster. He’s not particularly geeky, but he’s freaking adorable in an “I’m gonna bite your face off” sort of way.
Tiny knit awesome-ness from Craftster user EJayneH! She made this Stephen Colbert finger puppet for a friend who then took it with her when she saw The Colbert Report in person.
