We Are Groot.

Everyone wants to get their hands on a certain dancing tree. Well there are ways now, you can give a crafter some support, or you can take up the tools of your preferred craft and have at it. Heck there was a post here just a couple days ago with a lovely piece of Groot jewelry.

So lets start a list:

You can also find a Groot Brooch here. Perhaps you want a decorative but non wearable Groot. We have that too and more.

I know what you are saying, that’s all well and good but I want my Groot to dance.  Well, The Mary Sue shared the instructions to do that as well.

Geeky Diaper Covers by Domestic Geek Girl

Projects like these Geeky Themed Diaper Covers by Domestic Geek Girl really make me wish I had some wee ones still in the house. (Of course, with a son who just turned 20, it doesn’t take much to make me wish to turn back time a little!) So for now I’ll have to settle for sharing these booty-licious beauties with you.

With the great geek fabrics from Marvel, Star Trek, Star Wars and more available at Jo-Ann’s and other retailers, you have so many options for creating some eye-catching geek couture for the precious cheeks in your life.

So I have a question for you – do you dress your children in geeky clothes, or are you letting them decide on their own to follow that path?

Alien Chestburster Onesie

chestburster

Let me just say, I don’t have a baby, but if I did, my baby would totally need a onesie like this!!

Writer and director Mike Dougherty (X-Men 2, Superman Returns, etc…) designed this chestburster-themed onesie with the help of a few Crayola markers. He even included the Weyland-Yutani logo on the sleeve! And because he just used Crayola markers on a white onesie, the possibilities of different movie “companies” are pretty much limited. Right off the bat, I’m thinking Omni Consumer Products from “Robocop” and Stark Industries would be fun options.

Let’s Go Flying

Last week I shared NeedleNoodle’s Ray Gun pattern in both knit and crochet. I should have know bettern than to just stop there. She has tons of great patterns for lots of geeky knitting and crochet.  Two patterns caught my eye as too more to share of their work.

First up a crochet hot air balloon. Its oh so very cute. And the size states it can hold a lego minifig

But it gets better.  There is also an airship.

Look at that air ship, my first thought was combining these two patterns, and making a Steampunk themed baby mobile.  I just need to find a baby. Plan B – Christmas ornaments, imagine these done in sparkle yarn, add a chain to hang them from. And you have unbreakable pretty for the tree.

Both patterns like before are available for purchase on Etsy and Ravelry.
