Jabba the Hutt Costume in Action
Star Wars blogger and book author extraordinaire Bonnie Burton recently had a chance to try out the new inflatable Jabba the Hutt costume when it arrived in the Star Wars Shop! She wrote about her field trip around the LucasFilm campus and the closest Starbucks, and even tried out some dance moves inside the giant suit (there’s a video to prove it!).

The cool thing about this costume is that it literally keeps you cool while you wear it thanks to an internal, battery-operated fan inside that inflates it so you actually look like the Hutt himself. The head of Jabba isn’t attached to the body of the costume, which makes it a fun thing to wear just on its own.

Yip Yip Costume
Yip! Yip! Okay, so Sesame Street may not be the first thing you think of when you think of Halloween, or even geek crafts. Fine, but you have to admit these costumes are pretty awesome! Traci Lawson posted this great Yip Yip Costume with full instructons on her blog dedicated to children’s video games. Even if you don’t see yourself making your own Yip Yip Costume, I still suggest checking the instructional blog out, so you can see a video of Traci and her friend Yip Yipping in New York City.

Saturn Costume
A Saturn Costume for Saturday. Perfect for an astronomy geek, or a pregnant lady like me! K1 posted this Saturn Costume she made for her son on the blog negative entropy. I really love it! Looking at the supplies needed, I loved it even more. One black long-sleeved shirt, fabric paint, markers, a foam ball, a hula hoop–and a beer. K1 notes that it is necessary tool for a parent making their kid a Halloween costume! (Note: If you were going to do this as a pregnancy costume as I mentioned earleir, you wouldn’t need the foam ball!)
