I am seeing so many cool Harry Potter crafts this week in honor of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opening this week (which I will be watching in an hour – yea!!!!!!!). Craftster user norecliner, along with her mom and sister, crocheted a boxful of Pygmy Puffs and then handed them out at the movie theater! They used a pattern from Ravelry (not sure which one, so here’s a list) and did such a great job using different textured yarn.
Alien Book Hugger
Thank you Geek Crafts reader Kelly Szpunar for our very first Alien(s) craft! On her new blog HunkyDorky, she shares how she made this incredibly cool facehugger bookmark out of a cereal box. (If you don’t know what this is, you are a bad geek and need to watch Alien and Aliens stat!) Check out her blog – she’s also got True Blood, X-Files and Star Trek projects up (Tribble cupcakes!).
Amigurumi Linux Penguin
Geek Crafts reader Stacey Trock has a great pattern to crochet an amigurumi Linux penguin. There’s also a great selection of free patterns you can download.
Beararium Terrarium
This is not geeky, but it’s crafty and super cute, so I’m sharing it with y’all anyway. I love little terrariums. Does anyone remember getting tiny little ones in capsules as cereal box prizes? (I’m really dating myself here, aren’t I?) Anyway, saw this Beararium Terrarium on Craftster that sugar cookie made out of a honey bear container. Instructions are on her blog. I might have to try this one.
Harry Potter Horcruxes T-Shirt
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is opening in just a few short days and I’ve been seeing a lot of cool shirts people are making to wear to the premiere. Craftster jilltheimpossible made this shirt – click through to see the back – Make Love Not Horcruxes. Now I’m regretting not re-reading the books beforehand.
I’d love to see more Harry Potter crafts!
Star Wars Cakes
Craftster doyouloveanapple posted these incredibly cute Star Wars cakes that she made for her partner’s birthday based on these toys. Well done! (And thanks for the submission, Leah!)
