“Ahsoka Quinn” as a Star Wars/Batman Cosplay Mashup

lEmxJ2U

Knightsgarrison recently posted her Ahsoka Tano/Harley Quinn mashup on Imgur, because a friend (pictured above) wanted to cosplay as Ahsoka at Star Wars Celebration, but knowing that Ahsoka is to Star Wars as Harley Quinn is to literally every other con in the world, we figured…they’d just do both. It was her first time building something so involved and she learned (and screwed up) a lot along the way. She’s pretty proud of the results.

The seams drove her crazy. Luckily, it’s canon that Ahsoka sometimes wears head/lekku jewelry, so she bought some studded ribbon and glued it on. It doesn’t hide everything, but it helps a lot.

Total build time was 24 hours, spread it out over a month, and the total cost was about $100.

And as a total score, Knightsgarrison’s friend got a picture with the voice of Ahsoka herself: Ashley liked it so much she asked her assistant to take a picture with her own phone.

Want To See Iron Man Dancing With a T-Rex?

IBOTKS and T-Rex dancing

I had the pleasure of setting up shop at TopCon this past weekend, a small convention in Topeka, Kansas. It being their hometown, of course the IBOTKS were there (Iron Brothers of Topeka, KS).  They’re a family cosplay group that’s built some amazing Ironman themed cosplays, along with many other costumes too.  I just happened to catch this video of Ironman and War Machine getting their groove on with a T-Rex (and it’s hard to see, but there’s this little kid in the middle of it all dancing his little heart out too).  Needless to say, it was a fun weekend.  If you want to see more pictures from TopCon, head on over to their photo gallery!

You’re Not Seeing Double!

TwoStanLees

What’s better than meeting Stan Lee? How about meeting two of of one of the greatest creators in comic book history? Photographer Chris Dorsey was there last weekend to capture the magic as cosplayer “Agent Stan” met his real life counterpart, Stan “The Man” Lee at Planet Comicon in Kansas City.  Surrounded by the IBOTs (Iron Brothers of Topeka, KS), Dorsey documented all the fun, including some incredible cosplay all weekend at the convention.  Check out more of his excellent photos on his Facebook Page!

These Are The Shoes You’re Looking For

BB8Shoes

I know I’ve posted shoe tutorials before, and there are certainly a lot of them out there, but this BB-8 Heels Tutorial is intense. To make your own BB-8 heels you’ll need to know how to weld, because that’s how user mikeasaurus attached the new 2.5″ steel post that supports the shoe and sports the rotating body of the cutest little droid ever.  The tutorial is great, complete with step-by-step pictures and detailed instructions.  If you’re like me and perhaps find welding a bit beyond your skill set, then maybe try adapting this cute shoe design to a pair of flats. Either way, these shoes would be a big hit at your next convention!
