Etsy is always a great place to find the extraordinary, and the things that can’t even be described with a word that includes “ordinary”. Steampunk Cthulhu Goggles by RobinRed, completely fantastical and beautifully crafted.

Cthulhu Tree Topper
Nothing says Christmas like Cthulhu. I found this hand felted Cthulhu Tree Topper while browsing Etsy. NifNak‘s Etsy shop is full of every kind of felted wool creature and craft you can dream of, including Cthulhu ornaments to match the tree topper, or Flying Spaghetti Monster ornaments and tree toppers for the snarky Atheist in your life.
Dexter Blood Spatter Coasters
My husband and I have recently caught the Dexter bug (still catching up on Netflix, so no spoilers!). One of my favorite places to look for crafts to fit whatever my current obsession is, is Craftster, the swaps are where some truly amazing crafts are born. DesignVigilante made these completely macarbe, but completely cool handspun Blood Spatter Coasters for Papa Justify in their second Dexter swap.

Evil Dead Wearable Chainsaw
Man craftiness is sexy. Sam O posted this gem on her blog, CottonSpool. Mr. O has planned a costume party for his 30th birthday and plans to go as Ash, from the Evil Dead trilogy. Now, we all know Ash is nothing without his boom-stick and chainsaw, so when Mr. O realized an arm mounted chainsaw was hard to come by on Craigslist, he did what any man would do, he went to his shed, day in, day out, and created an Evil Dead Wearable Chainsaw from things he had laying around. Bravo, Mr. O!
Spooky Halloween Front Porch
Nicole of Making it Lovely just posted a tutorial for spook-ifying your front porch, just in time for Halloween! She used construction paper, spray paint and branches to create a super creepy montage of crows and rats, in both 2D and 3D. What a perfect project for the Edgar Allen Poe/goth end of the geek spectrum!
