Coraline Dolls
Shayne knows how much I love Coraline, and she tipped me off to petskin’s awesome handmade Coraline dolls on Craftster — she sewed a couple of Coralines and one Other Mother, and crocheted the Cat!
They’re made with felt and recycled fabric and (of course) buttons — so cool!
Coraline Doll
Craftster user micheleleigh hand-sewed and embroidered this sweet Coraline doll at her daughter’s request.
iPhone Cozy + Rocket Ship + Coraline Mystery Box
I adore this clever needle-felted iPhone cozy made by UrbanCraft – what’s even better is that she’s actually the owner of a pink Motorola flip phone:
She listed the apps on her flickr page, from top left to right:
easy wi-fi, youtube, clock, flickr
wordpress, calendar, stocks, weather
iTurn, french, iLuna, projects
google earth, sketchpad, Obama, calculator
phone, mail, Safari, iPod
I also loved her rocket ship to disguise a thermostat
and her gorgeous Coraline mystery box, including this tiny sweater, for this spring’s swap.
Nicely done on all counts!
Susan’s Top 3 Costumes
It’s been really fun writing up awesome Halloween costumes this month! Here are my three favorites I’ve posted about…
Ruth Suehle’s amazing Red Queen costume for Dragon*Con,
thestamppit’s super-creepy Coraline “Other Mother” costume for Dragon*Con,
and Bonnie Burton’s fantastic Jabba the Hutt costume patrolling the halls at LucasFilm!
Other Mother Costume for Dragon*Con
Craftster member thestamppit made an ingenious Other Mother costume for this year’s Dragon*Con — love the details!
She mentioned on this “Other Mother” costume thread on Craftster that she attached the large buttons with spirit gum and she could see through the button holes… very cool. Her friend has a fantastic Bellatrix LeStrange costume as well — what a great pair of sinister characters from two of my all-time favorites, Coraline and Harry Potter.
5 Amigurumi Sackboys by causticmuse
I just came across this amazing crocheter (is that a word?) – Maggie Wang aka causticmuse – on Craftster. She has made a whole bunch of cool, very geeky amigurumi dolls based on Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet. I couldn’t pick a favorite as they’re all great, so here are five:
Level 80 Blood Elf from World of Warcraft
The Nameless One from Planescape: Torment
