Wookie the Chew

As a way to help us all try and think warm, fuzzy (furry) thoughts today in the midst of Winter Storm Jonas, I present a homemade Wookie the Chew!

AMC3586 posted a series of photos of the Chewbacca Teddy Bear here being made by his wife, over at Imgur. She’s making the bear for their son, who will be born in May…when it’s supposed to be nice and toasty warm outside again. The bear is based on Florida artist and illustrator James Hance’s book, The House at Chew Corner. ‘Wookiee The Chew’, in the style of the original Pooh books tells the adorkable tale of the little biped that belonged to Chrisolo Robin (and Chrisolo Robin belonged to him). 24 pages of affectionately crafted adventure, brand new b&w illustrations and sneaky Star Wars references- a tribute to the combined genius of George Lucas, A.A.Milne and E.H.Sheppard. Suitable for jedi apprentices of all ages!

Chewie Knievel

Does your nerd cave have a blank wall and you know it needs SOMETHING, but you just don’t know what? Then this is the print for you: Chewie Knieval, King of the Rebel Daredevils! This is a 16″ x 21 1/2″ matte print. signed by the artist, Matt Dawson of Pineville, LA.

If just a print (for the low, low price of only $20 plus shipping) won’t do, then you can contact Matt at The Morlock Shop and ask about buying the original painting, as it is still available.

The Morlock Shop does have several Star Wars pieces, but if that kind if sci-fi isn’t your thing, then at least check out his G.I. George, an original 18″ x 24″ acrylic painting on canvas. It’s George Washington, the bad ass of the War of Independence crossing the Delaware and kicking ass!

Knit Some Chewie Mittens

So there is a movie franchise that is getting more movies . Something about a long time ago in a galaxy far away. Or so I’ve heard.  Raverly Designer Therese Sharp has designed a pair of Chewie Mittens.  With SDCC happening right now and more cons approaching, what better then knitting some geek love? The pattern is available on Raverly.

Now You Can Be A Wookie Too!

Erin from The Common Room, of Phoenix, AZ, has created the greatest seat belt cover I’ve ever seen! It’s based on Chewbacca’s ammo belt!

Attaching with velcro, this strap not only adds style but comfort! It can also be used on a messenger bag, guitar strap, back pack, or anything else you can think of with a strap!

It amazes me that it’s taken this long, since the first Star Wars movie, for someone to come up with an item like this one. Erin might very well be a genius! I just hope George Lucas doesn’t stop her from making these.
