Harry Potter Inspired Wooden Pendants

Harry Potter Wooden PendantsI just can’t get enough of Harry Potter.  I came into the series when Chamber of Secrets came out, and have been obsessed with everything Potter ever since.  As a dude, I tend not to wear much jewelry, but a simple pendant is something I can be expected to wear.  That’s why I was so excited when I saw these Harry Potter Inspired Wooden Pendants by BookishCharm on Etsy.

BookishCharm has quite a few pendants, and I couldn’t settle on just one, so I chose my four favorites out of what she has to offer.

Don’t forget to check out BookishCharm on Etsy to see more wonderful jewelry.

It’s Harry Potter week on GeekCrafts!  Don’t miss it!

“Always” Harry Potter Embroidery Hoop

SPOILERS FOR DEATHLY HALLOWS PART II

“Expecto Patronum!’
From the tip of his wand shot a silver doe: She landed on the office floor, bounded once across the office, and soared out of the window. Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears.
‘After all this time?’
‘Always

The final Harry Potter movie is finally here! I’m sad because the series is ending, but excited to finally see the movie, and all the cool stuff that crafters have been making in anticipation! PirateColey made this gorgeous embroidery of Snape’s Patronus based on a tattoo that she found. She used pearly thread to make it magical, and I think it worked. I love the two tones and her satin stitch is really impressive. It really looks like a patronus!

Bellatrix Lestrange Costume

Check out this hyper-movie- accurate Bellatrix costume made by Burdastlyle user and blogger Cation Designs.

Aside from looking… well… amazing there are a few other awesome things about this project and this crafter that makes me love it even more:

  1. She’s a science teacher!
  2. The corset was made from thrifted leather pants (yeyy for recycling!!)
  3. In a post about Harry Potter she mentions Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

UPDATE: Cindy from Cation Designs has just updated her blog with a tutorial on how you can make your own Bellatrix corset. You can see the tutorial here.

Wizard Plushie Pals

Harry Potter Wizard PlushiesBecause the Snape Potter Puppet Pal just wasn’t enough to satisfy my craving for magical fleece, I found another project for you: “Wizard” Plushie Pals by SaintAngel on Etsy.

They remind me of soft Weeble Wobbles!

Apparently SaintAngel is concerned about a call from the Ministry of Magic, Office of Copywriting Enchantments, because her plushies are named Henry, Ryan, Henrietta and the Great Bumblefloor.  But perhaps you can use a diving spell to figure out who they really are.

Looks like have featured SaintAngel’s work before – check out this post on Spike the Dinosaur!
