It’s like a Saturday Star Wars two for one today!Random Canadian has posted intructions on how to make light saber knitting needles, over at Instructables.
The materials needed for this project include a 3/8″ Lucite rod, several key-chain LED flashlights, a red LED, a green LED, 2 X 10 Ohm resistor, heat shrink tubing,
120 sand paper, a Scotch-Brite pad, and a 10 Ohm resistor. It can’t be a terribly difficult project, as Random Canadian said another smaller set of needles were also made.
“The cyano glue makes the cut ends optically pure when the plastic bits are joined, as long as there are not big tool marks… I found this out on a previous project. saves quite a bit of time by not having to polish the ends.”

Pink Hickey on Craftster made this amazing, incredible, fantastic, dragon dress. She gave a tutorial on how to make it, tailored to yourself and all. I’ve had this pinned to my Clothing board for as long as I’ve had Pinterest, and the only thing stopping me from owning this dress is getting hold of the fabric – “Shibuki Dragon” The Alexander Henry Fabrics Collection 2007. An endeavour worth the effort, if her results are anything to go by!
Here’s one for all my fellow Astrogeeks! I LOVE this scarf. Love it. As an amateur astronomer anything with constellations send me giddy, and this is great because you can make your own scarf featuring your favourite constellations.

I’ve actually been thinking of doing something similar to this on some blinds, ever since I purchased the wonderful Dot to Dot tee from Threadless, but I reckon using this tutorial a lot more things in my life are soon going to be sporting astronomical designs pretty soon!
Crocheting is already awesome, but you know what would make it even better? Adding lightsabers. Channel the force as you make scarves, dolls, and whatever else you like to create while wielding a lightsaber crochet hook. They’re very nifty and might just help keep your hand from excess cramping. Cherelle made these super fun, hook grips out of polymer clay. This is a smart tutorial from Majann on DeviantArt, in that it’s a really simple, easy, yet super effective geek craft. Great for cosplay, Wizard Parties, or just to have a selection of wands on hand… just in case.
Majann’s photo tutorial shows how to make great looking wands using wooden cheap chop sticks, hot glue, random beads and acrylic paint – Pheonix tail feathers and such not needed! Just be careful not to burn yourself on the hot glue.
