Yoshi Knits

Craftster User silentblair posted this adorable Yoshi hat on Craftster.  This hat was made for her 4-year-old daughter, but I think I might have to consider making one for a certain Yoshi Loving man in my house.  I love how she has Yoshis of different colors around the hat, it’s a perfect way to personalize the hat for anyone based on their favourite Yoshi colors.  Silentblair used the chart generously shared by fellow Craftster user teriyakimoto for her design.  Check out Teriyakimoto’s Keyhole Scarf too, it makes literal use of the keyhole, making it a very unique geek scarf that anyone would love.

Space Invaders Clutch

Space Invaders ClutchRecently I’ve been doing lots of traveling, and tiny bags or clutches are instrumental in organization and packing.  This Space Invaders clutch bag is perfect!!  I especially love the pink zipper and handle… ooh and the pleats!  The only thing I’m left to wonder is, where did you find that great fabric stellarcheri?!

The purple heart clutch in her newest post is also fabulous, and I’ve fallen madly in love with it as well.  Safe to say I’ll be following her updates from now on!  stellarcheri is on Craftster, Etsy AND  Facebook :)

Fleece Dragon Age Plushies

Dragon Age dolls by eitanyaI’ve been eyeing Jo Roberts’s (AKA Etianya) amazingly detailed fleece plushies, hats, and scarves on DeviantART for a while now. Not just for their warm snuggliness, but because they are beautifully hand-crafted pieces of geek art.

She’s captured characters from video games such as Final Fantasy, Super Mario Bros., and World of Warcraft. The ones that stole this Bioware geek’s heart, though, were her Dragon Age: Origins plushies.

Not only has she made some adorable stand-alone dolls of party faves Alistair, Morrigan, and Zevran, she’s also indulged the romantic side of her clients by custom-making dolls of their Gray Warden with their tru wuv. Even sweeter, she’s designed them with magnets so they can kiss.

Say it with me: “D’aaaaw!”

NES Bedding

For a second, lets take a moment out of our busy lives to thank God for Instructables.

Yes, that is what you think it is, a queen sized bed with handmade NES themed bedding!

Imagine sleeping in this, dreaming about Duck Hunt, shooting your light gun… wow… I NEED IT!!.. you need it too?! you’re in luck!! (kinda) Looks like rpaxton might be looking to make another and sell it on E-bay since the one she sold in December 2010 made a whopping:

$433.52

that’s £278

Wow… it kinda makes me hope that one day I might be able to make money out of this stuff too! HAH – NOW who’s dreaming!

Mortal Kombat felt dolls

Mortal Kombat felt dolls Mortal Kombat felt dolls

Terri, b/k/a etsy seller TerriFluffShop, is selling these awesome felt dolls of Mortal Kombat 3 characters Sindel and Cyrax . Although these characters are a little more obscure than your Johnny Cages and Liu Kangs, they are really well done. Just check out all the details on Cyrax’s armor! He even comes with his signature green web! (Or is it a net? I say it’s a web…)
If MK plushies are something you think you need, but maybe not in the form of Sindel or Cyrax, Terri says she can do other characters upon request! I would love a lil fuzzy Rayden or Scorpion in my craft room…

And check here to see Sindel’s notoriously terrible appearance in Mortal Kombat Annihilation (the second MK movie).

Epic Mario Quilt!!

There is no other no other word for this mario quilt than EPIC!… and as someone who works with teenage children I use that word sparingly!

cheerupem0kidx0x started the Mario theme room thread on craftster back in July 2010! and since then has been keeping us updated, as she created the bob-omb lamp, pipe waste paper bin, NES cartridge clock, papier mache fire flower, papier mache boo… just seriously… there’s no way I can list everything this amazing geek crafter has made just go look at the thread.

Since there was lots of work in progress included on this thread, it’s a treasure trove of how-to’s, tutorials and fabulous crafting ideas (you will NOT BELIEVE how easy it is to make .a bob-omb lamp!)

I think we can all agree, her son is a very lucky guy!

The stuff she made is great, but the quilt is just AMAZING (and I’m not one for quilting…. at all… if I’m going to sit at a sewing machine for hours there’d better be a dress at the end of it!) It’s a result of 5 months work and it’s paid off big style!
