Pattern: Our Wall Is Not For Target Practice Mitts

Wandering  Tumblr as one waits for a blizzard (oh its here guys its here) reminded me of something else that was back. The BBC’s Sherlock.  I saw, webpixies Fingerless Mitts and grinned. I mean it wouldn’t be the first time, that I had a themed post so welcome back Sherlock. We are quite happy that you live again even if it took a few years.

Webpixie used  the free pattern by Ampersand Designs  and altered the  mitten pattern into a pair of fingerless gloves. And one has to love the happy face addition on her mitts.  Mitten or Mitts, its a fun knittterly way to show your joy at returning to Baker Street.

Pattern: There and Back Again Story Scarf

Frivolite Handcrafts is at it again. This time with  a Hobbit themed double knit scarf. There and Back Again Story Scarf, knits out the tale of The Hobbit.  You read that right, Knits out the story of The Hobbit.  You should go to the project page, just so you can read the fun little  story that goes with the scarf. In the same spirit as The Hobbit, this scarf is enough to make you smile.

Again this scarf, like the day of the doctor scarf is double knitted so you see the  pattern on both sides as mirror images of each other.

Guys, guys, I really thought it would be a few weeks before I posted anything doctor who related. I really did.  Silly me.  Pretty much five minutes after that thought I was informed of the existence of a double knit doctor who scarf making the rounds on Ravelry.  Frivolite Handcrafts has created a scarf titled The Name of the Doctor.

Tardis? Check. Gallifreyan script. Check.  Possibly needing a time machine to get this done anytime soon? Check and check.

Doctor Who Knits

The 50th anniversary of  Doctor Who is fast approaching and my answer is of course to craft all the Doctor Who things.  Now not even I can knit The Scarf in a week, but there are quite a few smaller items that one can get their hands on. Hyde & Co. designs has one of best small 5th doctor knits I’ve ever seen. This free pattern is a great small knit for the next week.
