Pattern: Our Wall Is Not For Target Practice Mitts

Wandering  Tumblr as one waits for a blizzard (oh its here guys its here) reminded me of something else that was back. The BBC’s Sherlock.  I saw, webpixies Fingerless Mitts and grinned. I mean it wouldn’t be the first time, that I had a themed post so welcome back Sherlock. We are quite happy that you live again even if it took a few years.

Webpixie used  the free pattern by Ampersand Designs  and altered the  mitten pattern into a pair of fingerless gloves. And one has to love the happy face addition on her mitts.  Mitten or Mitts, its a fun knittterly way to show your joy at returning to Baker Street.

11th Doctor fingerless gloves

11th Doctor fingerless gloves
I love these 11th Doctor fingerless gloves by Bobbie from BobbieBomber on Tumblr. She was inspired by a picture of a crocheted phone cover she saw on Google, and I can see this would be great for that too. There is no pattern, but they appear similar to the Iron Man-Inspired Crocheted Gloves linked here a few months back. Bobbie is also happy to make them, and ship worldwide, if you send her an inbox through tumblr, (though no mention of price) so for those of you who are not crochet inclined, you don’t need to miss out.

Iron Man-Inspired Crocheted Gloves

Iron Man-Inspired Gloves

We all want to be part of The Avengers.  Let’s face it.  Maybe you’ve created your own superhero or maybe you really want to be Thor.  Or Captain America.  Or, well, Iron Man.  (Or, if you’re me, you want to be Joss Whedon!)

Louie over at Louie’s Loops found a fun way to show off his love for comics and The Avengers — crocheted fingerless gloves in Iron Man’s colors, complete with Power Circles!  Originally inspired by a pair he found on Etsy being sold by Nerdifacts, he created his own version and shared the pattern — for free!

Check out the pattern below and comment with your favorite Avengers crafts.

Bam-pow! Fingerless gloves

>For most of us in the United States, winter and its cozy accessories are becoming a distant memory. Before we get too far away from the cooler months, I want to give a little shout-out to these super-cute fingerless gloves. Annie Watts has the pattern for sale on Ravelry, so if you are a semi-hopeless knitter, you can get started on holiday gifts now ;-)

Enterprise Fingerless Mittens

Star Trek and fingerless gloves. It doesn’t get much better than that, especially when the high today is going to be 23 degrees. These were made by Audrey Paquin and published on her Ravelry page (there’s a free pattern). Audrey created the pattern for her sister’s friend (who is also a Star Trek fan).

I love that you can tell what it’s the Enterprise, even if you just see a tiny picture. Sometimes you see knitted items that are supposed to have a picture, but you can’t really tell what it’s a picture of without being told. But this is the Enterprise, no question. I love this color for gloves, because they go with everything. And they look so warm!

Pac-Man Week: Pac-Man Gloves

Pac-Man GlovesPac-Man & Ms. Pac-Man are in love. Keep your hands toasty with these fun fingerless gloves. Sherry of Baby Pop Designs custom makes each pair out of polar fleece as they’re ordered. She’s got some other fun couple-y designs like eggs & bacon (my favorite!) and salt & lemon slices. And for little geeks-in-training, Sherry offers super hero capes, also made-to-order.
