Zombie Flats

zombieflats

Using just markers, gel pens, nail polish, and a couple other items, troberts8 created these awesome zombie flats.  I think they’re adorable in a creepy sort of way, and they’re practical too (I think they just might confuse oncoming zombies into thinking you’re already dead).   While I don’t have the artistic ability to make them, I’m certain there are those of you out there who would be entirely able to paint zombie toes on shoes.  If you’re interest in making a pair, check out the instructions here.

Cthulhu Mittens

Cthulhu MittensIf your Winter wasn’t quite creepy enough, or all that snow has driven you to madness, perhaps you should reflect it, with a pair of these fabulously tentacled Cthulhu mittens! This pair was knitted by knittitude as part of Nerd Wars on Ravelry and made it to the finals of the best in round two.

This free pattern was written by Diana Stafford (you may remember we shared her One Ring scarf pattern earlier this year) – truly a great, all-round, geeky knitter!

Zombie Campfire Embroidery

Zombie Campfire Embroidery

Mmmm…toasty braaiiinss! Check out this amazing zombie embroidery by Flickr user Darizard! It’s the perfect combination of cute and creepy. And believe it or not, this was only her first try at embroidery!

The Exorcist

Halloween is getting closer and closer, so I wanted to celebrate with an homage to one of my favorite horror movies…

They just don’t make them like they used to, right? 1970s horror was great at mixing creep and gore. Shove Mink has more terrifying stuff in her Etsy shop so if horror is your thing, be sure to check it out. These are art pieces, which is one reason why this is not meant for kids. Also nightmares.

Oh, Sex Pistols fans, you’ll find a pretty amazing and twisted memorial there as well.

Everybody scream!

Nightmare Before Christmas shoes

It’s certainly showing my age to say that I remember the ads coming out during the September and October of my senior year of high school for The Nightmare Before Christmas and being so. very. excited.  I don’t recall a time before or since that I so eagerly anticipated a movie and had it live up to my exceptions so completely.

Obviously, lots of time has passed since then. Burton decided to make that horrible adaptation of Alice in Wonderland (>>shudder!<<) BUT… he’s got another movie (Frankenweenie) coming out this weekend and it is claymation and I’m going to give it a chance because it looks adorable and creepy and everything else I love about this time of year.

As an homage, I decided to post these really cute painted shoes, featuring the only lovable 2-faced politician and Jack and Sally during a moment of romance.

Check out Tracy Pierce’s page on Etsy to see more angles. Look out for Oogy Boogy!

The Cutest Little Slayer Ever

Look, I’ll be honest with you. I’m not at all into amigurumi. More power to you if you are, but they are not my thing. But I stumbled across this little Amigurumi Buffy and was enchanted. I mean, seriously, look at how cute she is! I just love the little smirk and the little crocheted stake. Such an adorable little slayer.
