Nice Knockers! Labyrinth cosplay

Talking Knockers Labyrinth cosplay by Brittney Benjamin

You gotta hand it to a girl with a nice pair of knockers. Indeed, Brittney Benjamin crafted hers herself, based on the talking door knockers in the movie Labyrinth. Working with two pounds of Sculpey and an old bra, she created some rather eye-catching cosplay. (Though it’s rude to stare.)

I remember watching Labyrinth in my youth, and vaguely remember being pretty scared by it. I should probably watch it again to see why. Probably just the sight of David Bowie in those pants.

Colored Pencil Ring

Peter Brown, who came up with an incredibly unique creation starting from simple things such as pencils and glue: a colored pencil ring.

While the posting over on Mogul could be considered a tutorial, it’s not an easy one to follow, unless you have and know how to use, a lathe.

He started with a 12 pack of colored pencils, arranged in two layers randomly, with glue to hold them together. And when the cutting, sanding and varnishing was done, he had a one of a kind ring.

Not All Geek Crafts Have To Be Permanent

Sometimes, some of the most stunning of crafts can be edible and insanely easy. This is one of them.

picard

The poster of this craft wrote that his/her friend created this portrait of Sir Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard out of ketchup, mustard, hoisin sauce, and bleu cheese. There’s no other information available about it, but it’s popped up all over the Internet. Personally, the only thing I can think to say about it is, “Mr. Data, let’s stop for a snack. Warp Factor Trisket!”

Accio Freezer Paper! Harry Potter Craft

Harry Potter freezer paper stencil tshirt by Kacey Kendrick Wagner

I love surfing about the interwebs and happening upon geeky crafts. I feel an immediate kinship with the person – here’s someone who’s both crafty AND geeky, like me! And when – BONUS! – they include a step-by-step tutorial, I do a little happy dance. Kacey at Stay at Home Artist provided just such an example with her Harry Potter Freezer Paper Stencil t-shirt tutorial.

With her step-outs, even if you aren’t crazy-graphically-gifted like Kacey (that script text! that stag!), you can still pump out a cool t-shirt that pays homage to whatever fandom trips your trigger. What fandom would you choose and what would you stencil? Have you tried freezer paper stenciling? What were your results? So many questions!
