Pyrography Pirates

Kim, from Kim’s Krafts Woodburning has been practicing the art of pyrography for over 5 years. She makes small items such as key chains, earrings, coasters and bookmarks to larger items like wall art and tables. Kim says this particular piece probably her favorite because she loves pirates and all the shading that was required in this piece.  She says really was very fun to make.

Nom nom – International Pi Day!

Nom nom - International Pi Day

MessengARRRRRR Bag!

Someone’s going to take away my post-titling privileges, I can tell. ;)

Seriously, though, how could you not be psyched about this awesome pirate bag, put together by Three Geeks and a Needle? It’s a look you could rock at any pirate-, steampunk-, or Victorian-themed event! (Am I wrong? I think those skulls & crossbones, whales, and sea monsters are quite frilly.) I have to admit, I covet these ladies’ bags. Look at the inside, all that attention to detail!

And there is the suggestion on their site that they have made TARDIS bags in the past. And Tron. And pretty skulls. Seems like they found a great source of geeky fabrics! Maybe if we’re very kind, they’ll share the info? :)

Scurvy Pirate Ship Onesie

Pirate Onesie

Strike fear into the hearts of those landlubbers at the playground with this ship-shape pirate onesie.

Made by hand by poet/crafty lady/new mama Dana Koster, this little treasure is appliqued with up-cycled fabric and felted sweaters.

If swashbuckling isn’t on your wee one’s list of extracurricular activities, Dana’s Esty shop, Stinkopotumus, carries other cute onesies with designs ranging from toadstools to neckties.
